What is PLS, and what is it for?
PLS is PulseChain’s native coin. It pays the fee on every transaction, validators stake it to secure the chain, and most tokens on PulseChain are traded against it.

In short
- It pays the fee on every transaction.
- Validators stake it, 32 million PLS each.
- WPLS is the same coin, wrapped so that pools can hold it.
Three jobs
- It pays the feesEvery transfer, swap and contract call costs a little PLS. Without any, a wallet full of tokens cannot move them.
- It secures the chainValidators lock up PLS to produce blocks, and are paid in PLS for doing it.
- It is the trading pairMost pools on PulseChain hold a token on one side and PLS on the other, so most prices are first a price in PLS.
PLS and WPLS
PLS is the chain’s own coin, so it has no contract. A trading pool can only hold tokens that have one. WPLS is PLS wrapped as a token, one for one, so that pools can hold it.
You rarely handle WPLS yourself. An exchange wraps and unwraps as part of the swap.
One thing follows from this. The WPLS contract holds only the PLS that has been wrapped, which is a small part of all PLS. Its supply on a block explorer is not the supply of PLS.
Where the supply came from
At the fork, an address that held ETH on Ethereum held the same number of PLS on PulseChain. People who took part in the PulseChain sacrifice in 2021 were credited PLS as well.
Since then, new PLS is paid to validators and a part of every fee is burned. The supply was about 135 trillion when this page was written.
PLS price and supply, liveHow its price is set
On PulseChain’s own exchange, by the pools where PLS trades against dollar coins brought over from Ethereum. This site reads the deepest of those pools every minute.
Market cap is the supply multiplied by that price. It is a size, not a sum anybody could take out.
How to get PLS
Two ways are common. A swap service takes another coin and sends PLS to your own address. A bridge takes USDC or ETH from another network and can deliver it as PLS. PulseChain’s own site lists a third: buying with a bank transfer through ProveX.
How to buy PLS, step by stepSources
- PulseChain’s mainnet repository: chain ID 369, and balances carried over as of block 17,232,999
- PulseChain’s testnet repository: ten-second slots against Ethereum’s twelve, 32 million to register a validator, fee burning
- CoinGecko: the total supply of PLS, 135.09 trillion on 13 October 2026
- PulseChain: the network’s settings, the ways onto it, and what it calls each token

Questions people ask
No. PLS is the native coin of PulseChain, as ETH is of Ethereum, and has no contract. WPLS is the token form of it, wrapped one for one.
PLS is the coin of the chain and pays its fees. PLSX is the token of PulseX, the exchange that runs on the chain. They are two assets with two prices.
Very little. A transfer costs a fraction of a cent, and a swap a few times that. The site shows the current cost of a transfer beside the chain’s other figures.
None of the largest exchanges listed PLS when this page was last checked. Some list other tokens under similar names, so check the network as well as the ticker.
