What is PLSX, and why does it burn?
PLSX is the token of PulseX, the exchange where most of PulseChain’s trading happens. Part of the fee on every swap is used to buy PLSX and burn it, so its supply only ever falls.

In short
- It is the token of PulseX, not the coin of the chain.
- About a fifth of every swap fee buys PLSX and burns it.
- No PLSX can be minted, so its supply only falls.
What it is
PulseX is the exchange that runs on PulseChain, and most of the chain’s tokens are priced by its pools. PLSX is its token.
PLSX pays no fee to its holders and is not needed to trade. What ties it to the exchange is the burn.
Where a swap’s fee goes
Every swap on PulseX pays a fee of 0.29%. By PulseX’s own account it is split three ways.
- 76% to liquidity providersThe people whose tokens are in the pool being traded.
- 21% to buy and burn PLSXThe fee is used to buy PLSX on the exchange, and what is bought is destroyed.
- The restTo an address PulseX says to expect nothing from.
A supply that only falls
PLSX started at about 143.1 trillion tokens, all made by the time PulseChain went live. None can be made since.
The burn calls the token’s own burn function, so the total supply itself shrinks. There is no burn address to add up, and a site that counts one will disagree with the chain.

Where it came from
PLSX was first given to people who took part in the PulseX sacrifice, which ran from late 2021 into 2022.
The SEC later alleged that the sacrifice was an unregistered securities offering. A court dismissed that case in 2025 without ruling on the question.
